Hello!

A few updates for this week beginning Monday, Sept. 9, 2013:

• Practices are now 6 to 7 a.m. at Helene Madison Pool Monday through Friday
• Meet schedule came in an email to all swimmers on the email list. The first meet is THIS Friday:  
  9/13 – Fri Mt. Si v. RHS Ballard Pool 3:00 PM 3:30 PM HOME Meet – Volunteers
  Needed
  Please note we have three home meets at three different pools. Jeff Haven will be following up with an email to ask for voluteer timers. This takes a team effort!
• Time standards for the championship came in the same email from Bergen.

Post-season news from Bergen

Everyone is welcome to continue practicing at 6:00-7:00am at Madison. Those of you who are attending meets need to be attending practices.

I have  a spreadsheet with every swimmers best times. (To see it, go to the team's Facebook site or ask Bergen.) This spreadsheet has designation of what championship meet each swimmer has qualified for. If it has "4K" or "4D" underneath your time then you have qualified for KINGO Champs or Districts, respectively.

Oct. 20: KINGCO invite is open to every swimmer who has one or zero "4K" times. This meet is optional. Information about when and where this is can be found at THIS LINKED document.

Oct. 26 and 27: KINGOCO champs is required for all swimmers who have a "4K" or "4D" in at least one event. Information about this event can be found at THIS LINKED document.

District champs is Friday and Saturday November 2nd and 3rd. Times TBD.

Buses: There will be a bus for KINGO Champs Prelims (10/26) from school to UW only.

Garfield Results

Congrats on a 95-90 victory. What a close meet!! Nice Swimming and especially great DIVING. See you Monday at 6AM. We are having a short team meeting so please be respectful of your teammates by being on time. Thank you!

P.S.: Rumor has it that a Monday-morning breakfast sign-up sheet is circulating out there. See if your kid signed you up! Also, there are some openings on the list, so consider helping out with Monday morning grab-and-go breakfasts if you see an open slot. --Andrea O.

Practices and meets for Week beginning Sept. 10

Next week has an unusual schedule due to Madison and Wedgwood pools being closed. Please do your best in attending practices. I understand many of you have pre scheduled after school activities and that is OK. This is only for 1 week and then beginning Monday, September 17th, we will be at Madison Pool 6-7am.

• Monday (9/10): Practice: Evans Pool (3-4pm). We have two lanes therefore half the team will be in the water for 30 minutes and the other half doing dryland. They will swap after 30 minutes. Please come prepared for both acticitves.
• Tuesday (9/11): No Practice: Meet Day! RHS @ Issaquah (Bohem Pool) Early Dismissal from school at 1:30pm. Please be on the buses located by the faculty parking lot/football field right after school. Bus will leave at 1:45. Warm ups at 2:45pm and meet starts at 3:15pm. Bus will return back to school around 6:30pm. You are required to ride the bus to the meet, however you may leave after the meet with family as long as you let a coach know.
• Wednesday (9/12): Same as Monday.
• Thursday (9/13): Practice Meadowbrook Pool (3-4pm). Address is 10517 35th Avenue NE, near Nathan Hale High School. Swimming for the hour. You'll need to car pool to and from the pool.
• Friday (9/14): No Practice: Meet Day! Skyline @ Roosevelt (Evans Pool). Warm ups at 3:00pm and meet starts at 3:30pm.
